The Foyer Foundation would like to acknowledge with thanks the generous contribution of Professor Mark Ashton in funding the publication of our Annual Report.
Professor Ashton is the Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Melbourne and past Head of Plastic Surgery at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. He is President of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and is an Invited Editor for The Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal in America. Mark is Director of the Taylor Research Lab within the Anatomy Department of the University of Melbourne and is past Chair of the Surgical Committee and Board member for Interplast, a not for profit charity providing Plastic Surgery to the Asia Pacific region.
‘My specialty of plastic and reconstructive surgery was born out of the damaged young lives that returned from the horror of the First World War. Our pioneers made great medical advances in restoring and enhancing bodily form and function to enable those young men to re-engage with their communities. In the same way, the Foyer Foundation is today a rebuilder of young damaged lives. I encourage others to support this worthy and innovative charity.’
– Mark Ashton, President, Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons
