As part of our innovation this year, the Foyer Foundation worked with local musician Rach Trainor to host virtual Jam Sessions for our Victorian Foyers in lockdown.
In 7 sessions over 3 months, Rach offered entertainment and a fun, inclusive activity across all skill levels, from professional musicians – to those just wanted to clap along.
Here is what Rachel thought of the experience: “I live and breathe music, it’s been a huge part of my life since my earliest memory. I adore performing live and sharing my love of music with the community through my teaching jobs. Unfortunately, my calendar was completely cleared out of gigs once Covid-19 hit Australian shores, so I was super excited when Foyer Foundation invited me to host their online jams, which utilised most of my musician and teaching skills. I’ve had such a blast working with Foyer Foundation and sharing my passion for music, and it’s shown me that even through the dark times, music will always be there to let the light in.”
