As we enter July 2020 and the end of Phase 1 of the Foyer Foundations Impact Framework development project, the Foyer Foundation is excited to share an update on this significant work. The impact framework aims to capture outcomes for Foyer-connected young people across Australia. It is underpinned by the Foyer Foundation’s efforts to support the development of quality Youth Foyers across Australia. Through consultations and focus groups with young people and staff, as well as literature review and much thinking, Niro Kandasamay has drafted an impact framework.
The objective of the first phase of this work was to develop the measures for the Impact Framework, with the aim of capturing the outcomes of Youth Foyers. The Foyer Foundation Impact Framework has 8 domains: Education, Employment, Housing and Living Skills, Physical Health, Mental Health, Sense of Belonging, Empowerment and Dignity, and Community Connections.
We are now moving into phase 2 which will see us pilot and test the measures from July 2020 onwards. We look forward to working with each of the Foyers to pilot and test the measures. This phase will see Accredited Foyers be involved in one on one consultations, continuation of the Advisory Group, getting young people’s feedback about the measures. It will see the Foyer Foundation getting input into the measures and then move into implementation phase, hopefully next year.
