The Foyer Foundation is delighted to announce the appointment of Julie Saunders as the incoming Chair of the Foyer Foundation Board.
Saunders is CEO of CHIA QLD and has been a Foyer Foundation Board member since September 2024, brings over 25 years of experience in planning, property and policy and deep knowledge of community housing.
Foyer Foundation Co-CEO, Corin Moffatt welcomed the appointment. “The Foyer Foundation is privileged to have Julie, a trusted community housing leader, volunteer her time and expertise to lead the Foyer movement towards our ambition of 50 Youth Foyers by 2030.
Speaking about her appointment Saunders said, “It is a privilege to step into the role of Chair of the Foyer Foundation at such a pivotal time. I hope to build on the incredible legacy established over the last decade, led by Keith Bryant and others, which has developed the Foyer model and given many young people the tools to thrive. As Chair, I look forward to working with government, industry, and community partners to further strengthen these opportunities, ensuring every young person has the chance to build a strong foundation for their future.”
Saunders takes over from outgoing Chair Keith Bryant, concluding a remarkable tenure of over ten years of service to the organisation and the national Youth Foyer movement.
Reflecting on his time with the Foyer Foundation, Bryant said “My time as Chair has taught me that systems don’t sort themselves out. Change requires intention, perseverance, and patience. But most importantly, it requires us to stay grounded in possibility rather than limitation.
Foyer Foundation demonstrates what happens when we refuse to accept the status quo, and I have every confidence this movement will continue opening new pathways for young people in every state and territory in Australia.”
Foyer Foundation Co-CEO, Liz Cameron-Smith acknowledged the tremendous dedication of Keith:
“For over 13 years, Keith has brought a bold vision to scale Youth Foyers as an evidence-based solution to youth homelessness combined with the entrepreneurial drive needed to make the impossible possible. The legacy of Keith will live long into the future – an additional nine Accredited Foyers were realised during his time as Chair, opening up opportunities for countless young people.

Mr Bryant will remain on the Board until February 2026, when Julie commences as Chair, to support the transition.
