Last week Launch Housing CEO Bevan Warner spoke to industry and students around Education Youth Foyers.
In the address, Bevan highlighted the strength and impact Foyers have on the Australian youth saying: “The truth is that Education First Youth Foyers really work and transform lives”.
See the statistics compiled as evidence:
EDUCATION: 67% of students leave an education first youth foyer with a year 12 or Certificate 3 qualification. A year later, the percentage is even higher at 75%
EMPLOYMENT: 31% of students have a part time or a permanent job when they leave an education first youth foyer (and of course many others are still studying).
HOUSING: 43% of students move into their own rental place when they leave foyer and a year later, 51% have their own housing.
It’s noted that health, social connections and community participation all improve too.
