We are very excited to announce the first Youth Foyer for the Australian Capital Territory.
Woden Youth Foyer is being developed n the ACT, to support all youth to achieve their potential.
The project will deliver an integrated youth foyer to assist in transitioning young people to independence.
Youth Foyers provide housing for young people committed to education and training but are at risk of homelessness. It aims to remove the barriers which often prevent young people, unable to rely on family support during key developmental years, from engaging in education, employment and mainstream opportunities. The Woden Youth Foyer will provide young people with stable accommodation in a supported living environment, providing mentoring, peer support and life coaching.
Foyer Foundation CEO Katie Hooper is thrilled with the new development, saying; “The Foyer Foundation are delighted to see the commitment to a purpose build youth foyer in Canberra. The development of an area with the inclusion of a youth foyer and access to education and a safe and inspiring community around them is what young people deserve. This is a significant investment and will see young people being fully engaged and included.”
