  • The lived experience by our young people

Foyers provide a life changing opportunity to help reduce the numbers of young people experiencing homelessness, low education outcomes and access to meaningful career pathways for a brighter future.

Homelessness can be isolating, destabilising and often traumatic. For children and young people, homelessness can be particularly devastating to their development and the negative effects are often long-lasting.

Youth homelessness, youth at risk of homelessness and young people experiencing disadvantage is a significant social issue in Australia.

According to the Costs of Youth Homelessness Project (2016), Australia spends $747m dollars each year addressing youth homelessness and its related impacts.

Foyers are an evidence informed model that provide access to education, training, employment and social opportunities to help young people break the cycle of homelessness and welfare dependence.

We are delighted to invite you to join us at this National event and look forward to seeing you in sunny Queensland in September.
