Bequests
So long as there are children and young people facing the isolation of having no family support, and nowhere safe to live, there will young people in our city who are homeless and in crisis. Should you choose to leave a bequest to the FOYER Foundation in your will you can be assured that your gift will help provide accommodation and support to these vulnerable children and young people.
What is a bequest?
We all need to make a will to make sure our property and assets go where we want them. As well as making provisions for family and others close to you, you can also include a provision to help provide opportunities to homeless young people. A bequest does not have to be cash, it can include securities or real estate (for example).
When you make a bequest to the FOYER FOUNDATION you will be leaving a part of your estate to benefit hundreds of disadvantaged young people in Adelaide gain independence and access to opportunities that can change their lives for the better.
How can I leave a bequest?
Leaving a bequest in your will is easy. Including the following statement will ensure that your wish to provide for homeless children and young people is carried out:
“I give and bequeath *________________________ to FOYER Foundation Limited – operating as FOYER FOUNDATION - to be paid free of all duty and to be applied for the general purposes of FOYER FOUNDATION. I declare the receipt from a the CEO or other officer of FOYER FOUNDATION shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors.”
*For example “the sum of $………”, or “….. % of the whole estate” , or “……… property or real estate”
If you already have a will you can simply add a supplement that sets out your instructions for a bequest.
FOYER FOUNDATION recommends you talk to your legal advisor when making or amending your will.
