Our Executive Officer
Sinead Gibney-Hughes joined the Foyer Foundation in late 2017 to drive an ambitious agenda for the Australian Foyer movement. After a number of years working for the Brotherhood of St Laurence in the Youth Transitions program area, Sinead comes to us a staunch advocate for the need for our service systems and wider institutions to provide a better offer for young people which taps into and nurtures their talents, aspirations and motivations, in addition to responding their challenges and needs.
Working within an Advantaged Thinking framework across a range of program and policy areas, including young people in and leaving care, young people connected with the justice system, and young people who have disengaged from mainstream education – Sinead is excited to use her wealth of experience to continue growing the Australian Foyer movement toward its ambition of 30 accredited Australian Foyers by 2030.
In her position as Executive Officer, Sinead is responsible for working in collaboration with the Foyer Foundation Board and the Brotherhood of St Laurence to drive the strategic agenda of the Foyer Foundation, along with a range of other activities, both externally and internally focused, including policy, advocacy, education, professional development, sponsorship, communications, marketing, finance and administration.
